Armani clad Leonardo DiCaprio was greeted by ardent fans as he arrived
on Hollywood Boulevard for the premiere of his latest film, the highly
anticipated "Inception", on Tuesday July 13, 2010. The premiere, held at
Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, was for the benefit
of the non-profit, climate change organization, The Alliance for
Climate protection. Co-star Marion Cotillard hit the carpet in a
sexy L’Wren Scott dress and Christian Dior shoes. Leo and Lukas Haas
both suited up in Emporio Armani and Ellen Page wore Yigal Azrouel.
Other celebrities who also made their way down the "Black" carpet were
co-stars Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom
Berenger and writer/director Christopher Nolan as well as Celebrity
guests including, Kellan Lutz, AnnaLynne McCord, Carrie-Anne Moss,
Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou among others. Leo,
pleased that the Inception script crossed his desk, shared his thoughts
with ET about the movie:
"[It] combines everything that
Hollywood has to offer spectacle-wise, but also is kind of a cerebral,
surreal film at times," he praised. "That's something you don't see land
on your lap very often. It's a thought provoking movie and for me to
have that combined with a director like Chris Nolan and to work with
actors like this, it's pretty incredible." To help celebrate
the occasion, composer Hans Zimmer and guitarist Johnny Marr (of The
Smiths and Modest Mouse), performed a special, one-time only concert at
the after-party following the film. They were be backed by a 20-piece
orchestra as they performed songs from Inception's soundtrack, which
Zimmer composed. Proceeds from the after-party event will also benefit
the Alliance for Climate Protection. The film centers on Dom
Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a skilled thief, the best in the dangerous art
of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the
subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most
vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this
treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him
an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now
Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give
him his life back but only if he can accomplish the
impossible--inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team
of specialists have to pull off the reverse; their task is not to steal
an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect
crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the
team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An
enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. Inception opens
in theaters everywhere Friday July 16. View more celebrity photos of the Inception film premiere at PictureLux Imagesearch
