Michael Cera has carved out a comfortable niche in the world of cinema with his geeky persona. Each time bringing his unique brand of comedy to his performances from Television's "Arrested Development' to 'Superbad' and continues it's evolution with his latest entry, 'Youth in Revolt', premiering at the Mann's Chinese 6 Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday, December 6, 2010..
The premiere was held at a more intimate venue, rather than the usual fan fest at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Attendees from the film included Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Justin Long, Ray Liotta, Jean Smart, Fred Willard, Adhir Kalyan, and celebrity dog Oscar (the terrier mix who plays the loveable Albert).
About the Film: In the tradition of Catcher in the Rye, and starring Michael Cera (also of the Oscar® winning film, Juno, and Superbad), YOUTH IN REVOLT is a coming-of-age comedy that puts a fresh and outrageous stamp on a tale of adolescent obsession and rebellion. Based on the acclaimed novel by C.D. Payne, YOUTH IN REVOLT is the story of Nick Twisp – a unique, but affable teen with a taste for the finer things in life like Sinatra and Fellini – who falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday) while on a family vacation. But family, geography and jealous ex-lovers conspire to keep these two apart. With Sheeni’s encouragement, Nick abandons his dull, predictable life and develops a rebellious alter ego: Francois.
